Quads must have a tether cord, nerf bars and a back number plate with your number on it.

You must have a number on your bike. You’ll use the last three digits of your AMA number when you receive it, until then, pick a number. All numbers must be at least 6” tall.

NEVER enter the race track without signing up first. You’ll be disqualified for the day and could be suspended from the AMA and District 14.

AMA and District Applications

You will apply for these each year. Print clearly or you may end up with you name misspelled on your card. You’ll be entered into our computer by your AMA application number until you receive your AMA card.

Keep all the receipts. If you applied on-line make sure you print out your conformation receipts. Until you get your cards, we’ll need to see these receipts to sign you up each time you race. If you lose your receipts you could be required to join AMA and District 14 again.

You should receive your cards in the mail in 4-6 weeks. If you do not receive them, please call the numbers on the sign up forms.

Data Cards or Sign Up Cards

You will fill out one data card or sign up card per class. Race Fees are $25.00 per class.

You must enter your bike brand, bike size (cc's), district and birth date on the data card. You must sign the card. Riders under 18 must also have their parent sign the data card.

Once you have an AMA card we will run it through a machine and imprint your AMA number, name, address, etc. on the data card. Until you get your AMA card, you will be required to print your AMA application number, name and address at the top left of the data card. PRINT CLEARLY. This is how we will enter you into our computer.

You will receive back one copy of your sign up data card to keep as a receipt. KEEP THIS! Our copy could get lost and you may need to prove to us that you signed up.

Release Forms

All racers must sign a liability release form. In addition, all racers under 18 must bring a parent to sign them up. This parent will fill out and sign a MINOR RELEASE FORM, as well as the data card for each class you are signed up for. (You will need to do this every race day)

*Minor Racer Information*

*Requirements for Riders Under 18*

The AMA, our insurance carrier, and common sense require a parent or legal guardian to sign up a minor rider. For legal purposes, we need a liability release and a minor release form filled out by your parent(s). For safety’s sake, you need your parent(s) with you in case you're hurt and need medical treatment.

If your parent can’t come with you, there is a way to ride, but you should be prepared before coming to the track. You need to bring two (2) copies of a notarized permission note from your parent. One for us to keep and one to take to the hospital with you in case of an emergency.

Here's a generic version of what the note should say:

"My son Joe Smith has my permission to ride motocross at Bay Racing’s Little Valley Motocross Park on May 6, 2010 ( list one date per note). In addition, I give permission to Sam Johnson (an adult] to sign all liability, release and registration forms at the track and to give consent for medical treatment of Joe Smith if needed."

___________________Parent or Legal Guardian Signature

___________________Notary Public Signature and Seal

In the example, Sam Johnson is someone 18 or over who will be at the track with you all day.

Please don’t make us turn you away because you did not bring the proper forms. We hate to disappoint any rider, but your safety is our first concern.

Practice Stickers

You will be given a practice sticker to put on your bike. This serves as proof that you have signed up and identifies your practice group.  You cannot enter the track without a practice sticker.

Practice

Everyone gets one practice. Riders who sign up for two classes usually get an extra practice.

Practice sessions are typically 4-5 laps.

The practice order is posted at the sign up window.

If you miss your practice, there’s a “clean bike” practice session for people who haven’t ridden in another practice. It is the last group to practice in the morning.

We don’t use the starting gate for practice. You’ll enter the track at the starting line and be directed to the starter. You may be lined up in front of the gate to wait for your group to start or you may be sent directly to the track.

Enter the track only at the starting line and exit only at the exit.

Ride complete laps. You can’t turn around and repeat sections of the track.

Race Format

The race order is posted at sign up around 15-30 minutes before the race start time.

We go through the race order twice. (Each class races twice or two motos).

After the race is posted, each class is printed and posted at sign up. Wait for your class to be posted then check to be sure your name is on the list, in the correct class. Please notify sign up personnel if any corrections need to be made.

Two or more classes are often combined into one moto. For example, the 125 Jr. and 16-24 classes usually race together in the same moto. The classes may have staggered starts where one class takes off, the gate is raised again and the next class takes off.

If a class has more that 20 entries, it will be split into qualifier groups. (The starting gate only holds 20 bikes). For example there may be a 125C Qualifier 1 and a 125C Qualifier 2.  If there are two qualifiers, the top 5 riders from each qualifier will race the finial moto. Riders who place below 5th will race in the LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER. The top 10 riders from the last chance qualifier will go to the finial moto.

If there is a slash (/) after your number that means that you have the same number as another rider in your moto. The starter will put a slash through your number plates when you come to the line.

Starting gate selection for the first moto is computer generated, random sort order.

Starting gate selection for the second moto is according to your first moto finish.

Once you receive the checkered flag, leave the track immediately. The next moto will start while you are finishing the previous.

Finish Positions/Awards

About 10 minutes after your first moto, check to see if your class results are posted. Make sure you name is listed with a finish position. If you have any questions, ask sign up personnel. Do the same thing for your second moto.

Overall position is tallied by the first and second moto finishes. Your two moto finishes are added together to get a point total. (Example: A fifth and sixth gets you 11 points) Finish positions are awarded by the lowest number of points. In case of a points tie, the best finish in the second moto wins.

When the second moto results are posted, the overall position is listed on the sheet.  The number of awards per class is noted on the class sheet, as well as the time awards will be handed out.

All 50 classes receive awards for all positions.
